Brian Seaman
Dr. Seaman is a native Maritimer who attended Dalhousie University prior to commencing his chiropractic studies. He graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (Toronto) in 1982 and since then has been in private practice in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Dr. Seaman became a Fellow of the Royal College of Chiropractic Sports Sciences (Canada) in 1988 and has attended over 50 national and international sporting events, including four Winter Olympics and a Pan American Games. Dr. Seaman was also the Chair of Medical Services for the 2011 Canada Winter Games in Halifax, NS (the first time that a chiropractor has held that position since the Games inception in 1967).
Dr. Seaman has served on the Boards of many of the profession's national organizations, including CMCC, CCEB and the RCCSS(C); the latter of which for 30 years (1984-2014). He was also the Provincial Chair for CMCC's "Hands on the Future" Capital Campaign from 1996 to 2005.
Over his career of four decades, Dr. Seaman has been the recipient of many awards and honours including the:
- CCA Chiropractic Centennial Award of Excellence"(1995)
- RCCSS(C) "Centenary Award" (1996)
- NSCC "Chiropractor of the Year" (1998)
- CMCC "Honourary Member" (1999)
- CCA "Award of Merit" (2001)
- Fellow of the International College of Chiropractors (2002)
- CCA "Medal of Merit" (2008)
- Fellow of the Canadian Chiropractic Association (2016; conferred on all Medal of merit recipients)
- NSCC "Lifetime Achievement Award" (2021)
In addition, Dr. Seaman was honoured in 2014, by the Royal College of Chiropractic Sports Sciences (Canada), for his outstanding contributions to sports chiropractic and the RCCSS(C) by being named as a “Life Member”.
